Tuff Shed Donates Building to Southside Elementary

Building to be Installed on Temporary Campus Tomorrow

‚Äč            DENHAM SPRINGS, La. – Tuff Shed, Inc., one of America’s leading suppliers of storage buildings and garages, has selected Southside Elementary as the winner of its Back to School promotion giveaway.

A 10 x 20 Premier Ranch model building will be constructed on the school’s temporary campus tomorrow (March 31), with installation workers beginning at 7 a.m. in hopes of completing their work by 4 p.m.  The workers and Tuff Shed spokesperson Tommy Sedotal will be available from noon to 2 p.m. for interviews and photo opportunities.

The new shed will store maintenance and playground equipment, janitorial supplies and other miscellaneous items.  The building will be installed on skids so it can be transferred to the restored campus in the future.

Southside Elementary is currently located on a temporary campus, housed in a series of modular buildings, located directly behind Juban Parc Elementary, off Brown Road.

Tuff Shed selected Southside Elementary as a deserving recipient after receiving a nomination from the school’s pre-kindergarten teacher, Nancy Nichols.

Nichols said she lealrned about the building giveaway program through Facebook.  “My friends sent me the link for the contest and I knew I had to nominate our school.  Our previous storage shed was lost in the flood and we would not have been able to replace it,” she said.

“It’s been a challenge over the past few months,” Nichols added. “We’re a Title 1 School, and we are doing our best to rebuild again, and we’re making progress.”
